5 Ways of Staying Positive
Positive thinking can be very powerful. It does need some practise however. So here are 5 simple ways of starting to change your mindset in 2020.
Give thanks - This can take many forms but give appreciation to the things or people you’re thankful for. Whether that is friends, family or the roof over your head. It can be sending a text message, giving someone a call or even, call me old fashioned, writing a letter.
Daily affirmations - Oldie but a goodie, stand in front of the mirror or clear your mind, as well as closing your eyes and tell yourself, every day how awesome you are, how funny you are and how you deserve happiness. Because you do deserve it, you’re amazing! There will never be another you, how cool is that!
Watch a video - A famous speech, movie scene or whatever makes you feel that fire in your belly. That feeling that you need to do something right away because you are so fired up.
Write a plan - Whether its a spider diagram, a list or a fully funded business proposal. Pick something you want and write a plan about how to get there, each little step to build up to the final goal. See this as fun not a chore and you’ll love it.
Spring Clean - I don’t know why but whenever I tidy my room or clear out old stuff I don’t need anymore I feel this sense of accomplishment and freedom. Whatever it is; bedroom, attic or the garage, give it a good clean and feel the sense of freedooooooom! (for the Braveheart fans out there)
Bonus Tip - I know,I know i’m spoiling you, thats just what your friendly neighbourhood Osteopath does. The last tip is simply titled ACTION - whenever you feel a thought of doubt or negativity, act, do something positive regardless of how small it is. Make your bed, read a book or start a project, anything that will help better you or your situation. Make a change and you will feel a sense of control. This sense of control over your life can be super powerful. So always remember ! “with great power, comes great responsibility” (Yes, I just used a Spiderman quote, sorry not sorry).
